Based on the suffix TJA I found it is one of two motors. 1973, 160hp conversion cab truck, or 1979, 165hp forward cab w/ AT. Based on the 3998991 heads (1972/1973) I would think it is the 160HP model. So Pretty much LOW compression motor.The #3970010 casting block is the most common four-inch bore block ever made. It comes from a 350 and likely has a forged steel crank, but the heads are terrible for performance improvements. Anyone know this block GM 41 3970010. I know its a 350, (I believe), has a drivers side dipstick and a "8" for its build year. I would think 1978 cause the small pad in the front of the engine is the smaller square shape not the longer more narrow older style pad for 1968. The pad is smooth so theres no engine codes. Its cast GM 41 by the 3970010.

Anyone know this block GM 41 3970010. I know its a 350, (I believe), has a drivers side dipstick and a "8" for its build year.
