Leaves the Stator or regulator. With the regulator being the cheapest I think I will replace it and go from there. 2011 Polaris Sportsman 500. If it is high 12v at the terminals the stator is basically dead. Jul 19, 2019 · I have a 2006 Sportsman 500 EFI X2. The battery light blinks at higher RPM's. At the higher RPM's, the battery is getting over 17 volts from the regulator. Per the service manual, I started testing the stator. While unplugged and with the engine running, I get from 20 to over 70 VAC depending on the RPM, but the ohm test shows all three legs ... 123 Answers. Polaris uses a stator located under the flywheel for charging. The flywheel is located on the right side of the atv under the pull rope cover. The easiest way to check to make sure the stator is working is to run a continuity and voltage test. There will be 3 yellow wires coming from a grommet on the right back side of the motor.Ignition Test.
