Quilt patterns using 5 inch squares
These will go with 2.5" and 4.5" squares to make a variety of quilt blocks and blue and white quilts. I have a Postage Stamp Quilt project made from 2"squares that I have been using as leaders and enders that is using up a lot of my very small scraps. I do need to find a pattern I love that uses 2.5" strips because those leftovers are piling up. Wonky star quilts really are so ridiculously easy. The latest quilt I used my 5 inch squares on is my extra-large granny square quilt, which I have just finished. With this quilt I just lay the blocks down diagonally to make the pattern, sewed the blocks together then trimmed the extra edges and it was ready to go. Again ridiculously easy.

Mar 25, 2017 · It just takes a tiny bit of planning to have things 'at the Ready'! First I cut my scraps into 2.5" squares. And I keep them together by color. Here is a bin of Green squares and Cream squares. The lights might have other colors in it but they read as a light fabric.
