When I attempted to drive it, D was still flashing so I cleared the code and it immediately came back and does so every time.The flashing D light means an intermitent failure in the transmission. When this happens the light will flash until the engine is shut off. If it was intermitent the flashing doesn't come back the failure was intermitent. However this shouldn't lock the gearshift out of the forward gears.
