Starve taming is only if you are worried about it getting hit and are going to go through the trouble of knocking it back out if it does get hit. Simply being unconscious is not taming. Therefore if the tame is hit before starting to tame it shouldn't effect it. Tranq arrows opposed to the slingshot, ect ect. Ive used Tranq arrows and gotton 99% eff right off the bat on some dino's. Also time of day and all that as its been said.
