It's as perfect as I think I'll get. Anti-armor is actually kind of overkill on a plasma caster, because damage reduction is calculated on the basis of per shot damage. The plasma caster has such high per shot damage, especially after stabilized reduces effective armor, that something like juggernaut or mutant’s might end up being better for full health builds vs. the majority of enemies.I've been working on a Bloodied PA Plasma Caster Build and would love your feedback on the Plasma Casters I've rolled… these are all ridiculously…

Plasma Caster is most certainly not a rifle, heh. Far as new ranged weapons go - we got bow, compound bow, gauss pistol/shotgun/minigun, plasma caster. The gauss minigun plays like a more powerful minigun, the plasma caster is more like a more powerful gatling gun. Downside of the gauss mini is the ammo consumption, it pukes ammo. Unless they have changed the lore, the plasma caster behaving exactly as you describe it is perfect. It was the first generation of plasma weapon and was unwieldy and inaccurate. I know that the plasma caster is mainly a VATS weapon but I’m curious about heavy builds. Any good heavy weapons build will work. It fires projectiles as opposed to being a hitscan weapon so it can be difficult use with free aim, hence why most people tend to use it with VATS. If you never use vats, plasma caster is prolly gonna be poo. For mods, prime is great and aligned sniper barrel is great too.
