Onan engine for miller welder
A 3600/3750 RPM Onan has a 5 ball governor. The external governor spring is also different for the two engines. As far as using an Onan genset engine on a welder it is possible if the cranks are the same. This is not always the case on Miller welders since they changed the design of the way the crank mates up to the rotor several times.If your interested in it, call me at 325-537-9271, or [email protected]. Re: Onan engine problems -- Miller 301G. First thing to check is the fuel cut off solenoid. It's the only thing that screws into the carb with one wire on it. The little sucker has a plunger/needle that blocks the main jet during shutdown. If it acts up while running it could cause the issues you mentioned.I have a miller portable welder with an onan engine.
