After permanently attaching the flash hider I ended up with a 16 1/2" overall length barrel. I also did both of my Mini 30's, all three have the same overall barrel length's. The original Fed Ord "M-14" style "slip-on" flash suppressor was designed to incorporate an integral Bayonet lug at the rear, hence its' greater length vice the Short Choate device.
