Get a pvp client like Lunar (my personal favourite) or Badlion and your set. As much as I love Lunar Client, you don't need any pvp client. Forge is fine. 1.8.9 is great for PVP but unfortunately you cannot swim like in newer versions. Block hitting etc. is very helpful though.
