Stellaris don't count your planets

This planetary management guide was designed from the ground up to help you make more sense of how planets work in Stellaris. There are so many different mechanisms to manage in Stellaris; some are minor, such as picking traditions or enacting edicts.

I have been playing stellaris and i just want to know what is the optimal colony number before 2300. In the vast majority of cases, more is better. It's less about how many colonies you can get, and more how quickly you can get them. For most empires, 5 colonies by 2300 is way too few. I'd want to see at least 20 to get some decent pop growth ...Specialized planets and ship designs do provide an edge, but are not necessary to build a strong and fun empire. But the first time I played Stellaris it was on release, version 1.0 And the first time I actually finished a campaign was when I was going for the achievements to purge the entire galaxy as a Determined Exterminator and Fanatic Purifiers in version 2.6. If you try you'll be way over your leader limit. You can put a governor on the sector capital. Their traits will apply to the capital world only. The level of the governor will give flat production and stability bonuses to every planet in the sector.
