Well I managed to install the NP205 where the T221 transfer case (TC) used to reside in my 1968 GMC K2500. I moved the supporting crossmember back 2 1/2" which required drilling new holes in the frame. The side support with the rubber bushings bolted right up to the NP205 and matched one of the holes in the horizontal portion of the frame.Use QU40931 and QU40768. There are MANY pages with info about these two cases on the internets. NP205= gear driven, cast iron case, 1.96:1 low, very strong T-case. NP208= chain driven, aluminum cased 2.6:1 or so low range not so strong and vulnerable to rocks due to aluminum case.Both are gear driven units with cast iron cases.The NP205 has a low range of 2:1 vers the DANA300 low range of 2.6:1.
