May 15, 2022 · 20 Messages. @XfinityNicolas This affects any device that is plugged into the Pod except my laptop. My setup has a small Netgear switch plugged into the Pod and my printer and NAS are plugged into the switch. This has worked fine for years. Now the only thing that will get the Pod Ethernet port to work is to plug my laptop into the switch. They won’t work with non-Xfinity routers, and if you leave Xfinity, your Pods will become pricey paperweights. But the Gateway supports other mesh Wi-Fi devices, so the Pod’s incompatibility issues thankfully aren’t a two-way street.

And when they were connected, download speeds dropped to around 15mbps despite our plan speed of 1,000mbps. If I unplugged a pod that was acting up, connections became reliable, but speeds remained atrocious. May I suggest that you unplug the xFi pods, (if you have an external router you will want to unplug that as well), then unplug the modem for about 30 seconds. Once you plug your modem back in, let it come all the way back up. (If you have an external router you will want to plug that in next and wait for it to come all the way up.)
